Apprentice Plumber of the Year

Overall winner of the 2014 competition was Jack Barker from Petroc College. Runner-up was Harry Teasdale. The remaining finalists were: Tanagon Ashworth, Hayley Phenix, Joshua Fuller, David Flowers and Scott Fuller.

Winner of the Competition, Jack commented: "I was gobsmacked to win because all the other finalists had finished to such a high standard.  My employer was very pleased to hear that I'd won too and I'd definitely recommend entering for next year.  Make sure you knuckle down and get your measurements bang on.  Put your clips on the board in the correct place and you can't really go wrong."

The UK Copper Board is the Gold Sponsor for the HIP! skills competition.  The competition is open to talented plumbing students (not older than 24 years), currently studying for their Level 2 or Level 3 qualification and who are not afraid to show off their copper pipework skills.  One student per college.  All students competing must attend one of six regional heats where an overall regional winner is chosen.  Each student that enters is awarded a Certificate of Achievement for successfully competing.
