HIP plumbing skills competition 2018

The result is in.

The 2018 HIP UK Heating Apprentice of the Year competition kicked off with a series of regional events that determined who went on to represent themselves, and their colleges, at the grand final held at the end of April.

The winner of the Final was Anthony Iacovazzo, 20, from City College Norwich. 

Head judge Tony Kite said: “It was a close competition and every contestant should be very proud of themselves. “Each finalist will be able to say that they competed in a UK competition at the highest possible standard; it’s a fantastic achievement.”

The winner for the North West Regional Heat is Luke Jones of @colegllandrillo.

 

Petroc College - 23rd January

Bath College, Bridgwater and Taunton College (Bridgwater and Taunton Campuses), Cornwall College (Camborne and Saltash and St Austell Campuses), Exeter College, Petroc College, South Devon College, South Gloucestershire & Stroud College, Weymouth College, Yeovil College.

The winner of the South West regional heat is Tom Moys of @PetrocOfficial.

 

Gower College Swansea - 25th January

Bridgend College (Bridgend and Pencoed Campuses), Coleg Gwent, Coleg Sir Gar (Ammanford), Coleg Y Cymoedd (Nantgarw and Ystrad Mynach Campuses), Gower College Swansea, Cardiff Vale College, NPTC Group (Afan, Neath and Swansea Campuses).

The winner of the Wales regional heat is Luke Evans, Gower College Swansea.

The winner for the Midlands Regional Heat is Joshua Paul, Boston College.

 

West Herts College - 15th February

Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College, Buckinghamshire College Group, City College Norwich, Eastleigh College, Farnborough College of Technology, London South East Colleges, Swindon College, Uxbridge College, West Herts College.

The winner for the South East Regional Heat is Anthony Lacovazzo, Norwich College.

 

Belfast Metropolitan College - 28th February

South West College (Omagh), Belfast Metropolitan College,(Millfield and Castlereagh Campuses), Southern regional College (Portadown and Armagh and Kilkeel and Greenbank and Bandbridge  Campuses).

The winner for the Northern Ireland regional heat is Shane Murray from SRC.
